Building up the project, we collect and analyse the project designs from the past, various plans in the recent fifty years, historical photographs, etc. Many further documents are original pieces of work and outputs created either in-house or based on an order. We begin to collect the data from odkazprestarostu.sk (Message for the Mayor – an initiative dedicated to recording issues reported from the residents and passing them on to the respective municipalities to have them resolved), in order to have a better idea on what are the issues the residents face on Kamenné and SNP Squares.
We are mapping the current state of the square:
- static transport
- traffic signs
- trees and bushes
- advertising space
- waste bins
- bicycle racks
- public street lightning
- plant pots
- feeder pillars
We create
- data map
- 3D model of the square
- emotional map
- legal analysis
- dendrological analysis of 172 trees
Simultaneously we have commenced a process of collecting opinions and suggestions from both the experts and general public, but mostly the residents. The process included following activities:
We have attended 138 working meetings as an implementation team with both the stakeholders and experts. We have released a questionnaire for the public and received 1087 responses. We have organized educative walks and focus groups in the Old City Seniorcentre, family centre Prešporkovo and with groups of residents with visual impairment and physical movement limitations. We collected data on the safety at a WhatCity? workshop. We completed mapping of 407 reports submitted by the residents at the Odkaz pre starostu (Message for the Mayor) web page.
Through the means of the project Vieš čo vidíš? (Do you know what you see?) and their web page, we have documented memories of the local residents associated with the specific places within the squares.
